Relisted: Rusty was found on Nov. 1, 2016 with a bottle stuck over his head and in extremely poor health. We don't know exactly how long that he went without food or water but he was near death, weighing only 4 pounds. He was immediately tested for feline Aids (FIV) and Leukemia (FeLV) and the test was negative, so extreme care was given to save his live. Two of the attached pictures show his horrible condition at the vet hospital on the day he was brought in. Since then, he as gained 7 pounds, was neutered, had his rabies and distemper vaccines and was flea and worm treated. He recently had minor eye surgery to correct the eye lashes from turning in and irritating his eye. You can still see this in his recent pictures but the scabs will go away soon. Well, after all that bad luck, you would think his story could only get better. A family was found who wanted to adopt him and his FIV/FeLV test was done one more time. The result was shocking and sad for all those involved in his care. He is now testing positive for both of these diseases. His family backed out on adopting him because they have other cats in the home who are negative. We desperately want Rusty to spend the rest of his life in a home with love. Do you know someone willing to take a risk on this boy? Maybe he will beat the odds again and live to an old age.
